The new compact, motorized RE2b Ramp from Massats offers "a superior user experience", says the Spanish manufacturer. The automatic ramp is seamlessly integrated into the vehicle floor and is wider to ensure easier boarding. When needed, it can also be manually operated. The RE2b is compatible with the latest Masats Evolution electronics, featuring predictive maintenance capabilities, as well as the standard Masats ECU.
The RE2b ramp can be fitted with the optional "Passenger Information System" (PIS-L) for better accessibility and more safety. Integrated into the ramp platform, this system uses red and green color-coded lighting to clearly indicate the status of both the door and ramp, making access more intuitive and secure: Steady green – Safe to enter or exit. When flashing green, the ramp or door is in motion and when flashing red closing is in progress. With the highly visible side signage, Masats improves accessibility for all passengers, "ensuring a more inclusive and user-friendly transport experience". Masats will present the RE2b ramp at the upcoming UITP exhibition in Hamburg, 16-18 June. The first units are already in service in vehicles in Singapore, a market where Masats has a strong presence.
