TCHAIN has presented regional application cases for its TCD12D electric rooftop air conditioner, developed for 10.0 to 12.0 m electric coaches and urban transit vehicles.
The TCD12D is designed for large passenger compartments and offers a rated cooling capacity of 32,000 Kcal/h and a heating capacity of 30,000 Kcal/h. According to the company, the unit has been deployed in different operating environments and vehicle applications, including coaches, airport shuttle buses and urban rail vehicles.
One application highlighted by TCHAIN is its use on urban commuter trains in Sabah, Malaysia. In this tropical, high-humidity environment, the unit is used to support temperature control under high passenger density and frequent daily operation. The rooftop-mounted system is designed to work with local train power supply requirements through a DC 420 to 720 V operating range.

The company also reports use of the TCD12D on 10 to 12 m luxury express coaches operating on domestic intercity routes in China. In this application, the unit provides an airflow of 5,400 m³/h to support even air distribution throughout the passenger cabin. TCHAIN states that the system is designed to combine stable cooling performance with low-noise operation for long-distance passenger comfort.
A further application case is Bangladesh’s intercity passenger coach market, where high ambient temperatures and humidity place greater demands on vehicle HVAC systems. TCHAIN indicates that the TCD12D is used in this environment for its cooling capacity, wide voltage range and resistance to demanding operating conditions.
The company also identifies airport shuttle buses in China as another application area. In these operations, frequent door opening, heavy passenger turnover and repeated stop-start cycles require fast and stable cooling performance. TCHAIN says the unit’s high-efficiency compressor, large air volume and rooftop structure support use in intensive shuttle service.
The TCD12D uses R410A refrigerant and is intended for a range of transport applications requiring electric HVAC systems for new energy vehicles. TCHAIN positions the unit for operators and vehicle builders seeking rooftop climate control solutions for coaches, shuttle buses and urban transit vehicles operating in warm and humid climates.
