Samsara has introduced new updates to its Commercial Navigation system, designed to improve route coordination between dispatch teams and drivers.
The first update allows dispatchers to add new stops directly into an active driver route. When a pickup is added, a delivery window changes or a stop is removed, the route can be updated in real time without relying on a phone call or manual adjustment by the driver. This helps keep dispatch teams and drivers aligned on the same route plan.

For fleet operations with frequent schedule changes, live stop updates can reduce coordination work and help avoid delays caused by outdated route information. The function is relevant for operations where routes may change during the day, including shuttle services, delivery operations, service fleets and passenger transport with dynamic scheduling needs.
Samsara has also added Android Auto support to Commercial Navigation. This extends in-dash navigation access to Android devices, alongside existing Apple CarPlay support. The update allows more drivers to use commercial routing guidance through the in-cab systems they already use, instead of relying on consumer navigation apps.
Commercial navigation tools are designed for professional vehicle operations, where routing requirements may differ from standard passenger-car navigation. For fleets, this can support safer route planning, better driver adoption and more consistent route execution.
The updates are part of Samsara’s broader connected fleet platform and are intended to help operators reduce route inefficiencies, improve dispatch-driver communication and simplify the in-cab navigation experience.
