LG Electronics has opened a state-of-the-art plant in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, with an investment of more than 60 million dollars, representing one of the company's most ambitious manufacturing projects in Mexico. This facility not only marks a step towards electromobility in the region, but will also generate 400 direct jobs, strengthening the local economy and promoting the automotive industry in the northeast of the country.
Plant Features and Technological Components
Located in the Santa María Industrial Park, this new plant will focus on the production of essential components for electric vehicles, including telematics systems, navigation devices, and audio and video systems. Telematics, which allows continuous communication between vehicles and external devices, represents an innovation that LG hopes to lead in the electric vehicle market. This type of technology will be essential to improve the connectivity of modern vehicles, which are oriented towards automation and intelligent interaction.
Ana Carolina Cano, director of Human Resources at LG Electronics in Ramos Arizpe, highlighted that this plant marks a new stage for LG in Mexico, since until now the company had only produced household appliances and entertainment devices. The new vehicle components plant is also part of the LG Vehicle Component Solutions division, created in 2003 and present in key markets such as Brazil, China, Poland and Vietnam. This expansion reflects LG's commitment to position itself as a leader in automotive technology, especially in the field of sustainability and electromobility.
