Rapid market entry is anticipated.
Eberspächer Climate Control Systems International GmbH and the Dutch company Zeliox Sales B.V. have signed an agreement to establish a joint venture. The future company, Eberspächer Zeliox B.V., will develop and distribute energy storage systems for mobile power supply in commercial and special vehicles. The goal is to offer market-leading solutions worldwide.
The trend toward electrification is also making inroads into utility vehicles, ambulances, and construction vehicles. Thanks to additional mobile power sources, these vehicles are reliably supplied with power on the construction site or at the location of use. Motorhome owners also value the independence that a self-sufficient power supply offers. The future Eberspächer Zeliox joint venture, in which both partners hold a 50% stake, contributes to this trend. The goal is to become the world's leading expert in comprehensive energy storage systems for mobile applications. To achieve this, Eberspächer, a well-established supplier of special-purpose vehicles for the automotive industry, is combining its expertise with the know-how of Zeliox, a Dutch specialist in energy storage systems.
“Thanks to Zeliox's technical expertise and years of experience, we are expanding our product portfolio with innovative, targeted energy storage solutions. This is a further step in our goal of offering our customers comprehensive thermal management, including the necessary energy as a system provider. With our global sales and service network, we are a key partner for rapid time-to-market and subsequent expansion,” emphasizes Steffen Such, Executive Vice President of Eberspaecher.
Frank Verkuijlen, owner of Zeliox, emphasizes: “By establishing this strategic alliance with Eberspaecher, we can expand more quickly to meet customer needs while accelerating the launch of innovative solutions.” By leveraging the combined strengths of both companies, we are positioning ourselves as a leading player in the vehicle power supply market, offering a more comprehensive, competitive, and innovative portfolio of products and services."
Going forward, the collaboration will drive targeted innovation and the development of new, all-in-one integrated energy storage systems. The focus is on solutions that ensure rapid installation and intuitive operation. This will enable the company to offer the highest quality for a wide range of customer needs across various segments and markets. In addition to the utility and cargo segments, and ambulances, the products are used in public safety and construction vehicles, as well as motorhomes.
