New plant offers 30% more production capacity
German group Eberspächer, which is involved in automotive control technologies, exhaust systems and a highly-reputable climate control line, is increasing its focus on Poland as a production centre and recently opened a new facility focused on the production of air conditioning units for electric buses and coaches, in the town of Przylesie, near the Czech border. The factory operates on a surface area of 12,500 square metres and is designed to meet the growing demand for temperature control equipment in buses.
Eberspächer has been producing air conditioning units in Poland for 7 years at its facilities in Olawa, which will continue to manufacture heating systems for vehicles. Around 100 employees have been transferred to the new factory in Przylesie and it is expected that in the medium term, the workforce will increase to 150 employees. There will also be a central spare parts warehouse there. The state-of-the-art factory was built with a focus on sustainability and energy savings, reducing CO₂ emissions by 50% and primary energy requirements by 70% thanks to the use of photovoltaic systems and a cooling system based on the use of heat pumps.
The new complex will also house areas dedicated to purchasing, production planning, control and order processing. In January 2025, Eberspächer began manufacturing the AC138 EVO model designed for electric and hybrid buses, with patented air circuit reversal technology, positioning itself as a flagship product that redefines electromobility: Launched in 2023, this model stands out for its lower complexity, high energy efficiency and the use of the new, more environmentally friendly R744 refrigerant gas based on CO₂.
The new plant in Przylesie will be able to produce 20,000 bus air conditioning units each year.
