Duotec reports a strong expansion into the commercial vehicle and railway segments following its first ever participation at Busworld Europe in Brussels and IREE in New Delhi. The company showcased its lightweight reclosable fastening solutions, which provide a cost efficient and more sustainable alternative to traditional mechanical fasteners such as screws and bolts.
At Busworld, Duotec engaged directly with bus manufacturers, bodybuilders and interior system suppliers seeking lighter, cleaner and maintenance friendly fastening options. Interest centered on the company’s self engaging reclosable fasteners, known as SERFs, which offer durable component mounting while enabling repeated removal and reattachment without special tools.

The solutions are engineered to deliver tactile confirmation when locked, ensuring controlled engagement and predictable load performance. Once closed, the fastener resists disengagement until a defined separation force is applied, aligning with interior and exterior use cases that require both security and serviceability.
Following its new distribution partnership with Sky Industries Ltd., Duotec also joined the team at IREE, marking its entry into the Indian railway supply chain. The SERF portfolio attracted attention from rolling stock manufacturers and subsystem suppliers focused on modular installation and long term serviceability.

Typical applications for Duotec’s SERFs include fixation of panels, interior and exterior trims, seating components, flooring assemblies and dashboard or cockpit structures. These areas benefit from reduced hardware complexity, improved installation speed and cleaner design integration.
The company positions SERFs as an enabler for OEMs and bodybuilders seeking weight reduction, noise mitigation, and simplified aftersales maintenance. Duotec continues to provide technical deep dives through its knowledge pages for engineers evaluating fastening system redesign.
