A key project for the energy transition
The Superintendency of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (SUFRAMA) has approved a project of great relevance for the energy transition in Brazil. Livoltek Power Brasil will lead the local production of charging stations for electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as battery modules based on lithium-ion cells. This development seeks to strengthen the electromobility infrastructure in the country and consolidate its commitment to sustainability.
Strategic tax benefits
The project includes significant tax incentives, essential to reduce costs and stimulate local production. Among them, the 88% reduction in the Import Tax applied to key components, such as lithium-ion electrochemical cells, stands out. This will allow Livoltek Power to access imported materials at competitive costs, boosting the manufacturing of charging stations and energy accumulators in Brazil.
Commitment to innovation and the environment
Livoltek Power will also make commitments in research, development and innovation (RD&I), investing a percentage of its revenues in activities that reinforce the technological development of the sector. In addition, it will have to comply with strict environmental standards set by the National Environmental Policy, ensuring that production is aligned with the country's decarbonization goals.
Electromobility in Brazil: a growing market
Interest in electric and hybrid vehicles is growing rapidly in Brazil. According to the Associação Brasileira do Veículo Elétrico (ABVE), sales of electric vehicles increased by 60% in 2023. However, charging infrastructure remains a key challenge, as it is currently insufficient to meet growing demand. Initiatives such as Livoltek Power's are essential to overcome this barrier and ensure the long-term success of the energy transition.
