XBRI Pneus will partner with Chinese manufacturer Linglong Tires
XBRI Tires has confirmed a historic investment of approximately US$ 1.193 million, to build a new tire factory in Ponta Grossa (Paraná), in association with the Chinese giant Linglong Tires. The project promises to transform Brazil into a reference center for rubber and tire technology in Latin America. The new industrial unit is expected to generate 3,200 direct jobs and its construction will begin in the third quarter of 2025 so that the installations begin production in 2027.
The complex will occupy an area of 1.25 million square meters and will have a robust structure, including a photovoltaic solar energy plant and a tire recycling plant. Estimated production is 12 million tires per year for passenger cars and trucks, 2.4 million for trucks and buses, in addition to 200,000 units for industrial and agricultural use. The project will be carried out in three phases and will have a research and development center (R+D) focused on the creation of technologies aligned with the Brazilian market and conditions.
According to Nabil Chamseddine, general director of XBRI Tires, the factory will play a central role in innovation in the sector. The election of Ponta Grossa as the headquarters of the new factory has the objective of facilitating exports to markets such as the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, reducing logistical costs and increasing the competitiveness of Brazilian products on the international stage. The chinos will be responsible for 70% of the plant that will export 30% of its production, another 30% for vehicle manufacturers located in Brazil and the remaining 40% will be for the aftermarket.
Linglong Tires, currently the 15th largest tire manufacturer in the world by revenue, brings to the joint company its experience in serving major automobile manufacturers such as Volkswagen, GM and BYD, in addition to its solid presence in research centers in China, Europe and North America.
With 37 years of experience, XBRI Pneus has consolidated its position in the sector with a focus on products developed especially for Brazil's roads and climate.
