Würth Elektronik has launched the WE-MXGA series, a new AEC-Q200-qualified power inductor designed for automotive electronic systems, including applications in buses and commercial vehicles.
The inductor delivers up to 25 percent lower DC resistance and up to 47 percent higher saturation current compared to standard components, supporting improved efficiency and higher current handling in power electronics.
The WE-MXGA series is designed for use in DC/DC converters (48 V to 12 V), battery management systems, ADAS modules, infotainment, and vehicle lighting. It is optimized for high-frequency switch-mode power supplies, particularly in architectures using GaN and SiC semiconductor technologies.
Performance improvements are achieved through optimized wire geometry and a pressed nanocrystalline powder core, enabling reduced losses and higher power density in compact designs.
The components are available in two form factors, 4020 and 5030, covering inductance ranges from 0.16 to 15 µH. They support currents up to 28 A, operating voltages up to 80 VDC, and temperatures from -40 °C to 125 °C.
The WE-MXGA series is available from stock, with samples offered for evaluation.
