Magnetic North has delivered a batch of intelligent onboard devices for the Dar es Salaam BRT fleet in Tanzania, deployed across 18 meter BRT buses.

The delivery includes an integrated onboard package covering video recording, bus validation, active safety functions (ADAS), passenger facing displays, and destination signage. The objective is to strengthen fleet level visibility, standardise fare validation workflows, and improve safety and passenger information in day to day BRT operations.

To support stable long term performance, the supplier deployed an overseas service team to train local operations and maintenance staff. The training combined classroom instruction with field practice and focused on system operation, troubleshooting, and daily maintenance, enabling the local team to run routine operations independently.

The project reflects a broader push toward digital and intelligent public transport operations, where onboard systems support safer driving, more accountable service delivery, and a more consistent passenger experience.
