TAICHANG Presents Rooftop AC Range for 6 to 10.5 Metre School Buses

TAICHANG Vehicle Technology has presented a rooftop air conditioning range for 6 to 10.5 metre diesel school buses operating in high temperature markets.

The TCH series includes three R134a rooftop AC models designed for different vehicle lengths and cooling requirements: TCH07GZ, TCH07IZ and TCH09MB. The models are positioned for small, medium and full size school buses used in regions such as South Asia, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

For bus manufacturers and fleet operators, rooftop AC selection is usually linked to cabin size, available roof space, operating temperature, voltage compatibility, weight and airflow. TAICHANG’s school bus AC range is designed around 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems, depending on the model, with compact rooftop dimensions for smaller and medium sized vehicles.

The TCH07GZ is designed for 6.0 to 8.0 metre school buses. It provides a rated cooling capacity of 16,000 Kcal/h, uses R134a refrigerant and supports DC12V or DC24V operation. The unit has overall dimensions of 1955 x 1560 x 180 mm, a net weight of up to 95 kg and evaporator airflow of 3200 m³/h.

The TCH07IZ is positioned for 7.0 to 8.5 metre school buses. It offers a cooling capacity of 18,000 Kcal/h, uses R134a refrigerant and supports DC12V or DC24V operation. The unit measures 2240 x 1620 x 180 mm, weighs up to 125 kg and provides airflow of 3600 m³/h.

For larger vehicles, the TCH09MB is designed for 9.0 to 10.5 metre full size school buses. It provides a rated cooling capacity of 24,000 Kcal/h, uses R134a refrigerant and operates on DC24V. The unit has airflow of 4800 m³/h, dimensions of 3320 x 1800 x 187 mm and a net weight of up to 175 kg.

According to TAICHANG, the range is intended for school bus applications where stable cooling performance, compact rooftop installation and compatibility with existing diesel bus platforms are key procurement factors.
