HARTING has introduced a new Crimp Change Unit that enables turned Han contacts to be processed on reel in semi automatic and fully automatic crimping machines. This capability unlocks a faster, more predictable and lower cost workflow for cable assemblers and manufacturers managing large scale harness production.
Until now, contacts for automatic crimping lines were either fed through vibrating bowls or through reels with stamped contacts. Turned contacts were not available in reel based format, limiting throughput. HARTING closes this gap with a plastic belt design that secures each turned Han contact and positions it precisely during automated processing.

The system supports conductor cross sections from 0.14 to 6 square millimeters and is compatible with leading crimping platforms from Schäfer, Komax and Schleuniger. With the corresponding reels and toolset, manufacturers can process up to 34 contact variants and achieve one second stripping and crimping cycles on fully automatic machines.
The solution reduces per unit processing cost, lowers labor requirements, and stabilizes quality in high mix high volume environments such as harness production for mobility, automation equipment, mechanical engineering and renewable energy systems.
HARTING provides the Crimp Change Unit, matching contacts on reel, and technical support for ROI calculations.
