EA2100p 14T wheel side motor axle supports low-floor electric shuttle bus design
The EA2100p 14T wheel side motor axle has been developed as a dedicated electric drive axle for shuttle bus applications, focusing on passenger capacity optimization, low-floor accessibility and long-term operational durability.
According to the manufacturer, the axle integrates the drive system into a compact wheel-side motor architecture, reducing the space requirements typically associated with conventional driveline configurations. This design enables wider aisle layouts and increased usable passenger space inside the vehicle.
The system is intended for short-distance, high-frequency urban shuttle operations, including airport shuttle buses and city transit applications. The compact configuration additionally supports fully flat low-floor vehicle layouts designed to improve accessibility and passenger flow during boarding and alighting.
The company states that the axle is engineered to support heavy passenger loads while extending tire service life beyond 80,000 km, contributing to lower maintenance requirements and reduced operational downtime for fleet operators.
By reducing central driveline packaging constraints, the EA2100p also enables greater chassis space utilization compared to traditional direct-drive systems. According to the manufacturer, shuttle buses equipped with the axle can achieve passenger capacities of up to 106 passengers.
The axle has reportedly been deployed in multiple operating environments including Hangzhou, Wenzhou, Ordos and Bengbu in China, as well as Romania. The manufacturer states that the platform has accumulated more than five million kilometers of operational mileage over more than five years of service.
The EA2100p is positioned for electric bus OEMs and shuttle bus operators seeking compact electric driveline systems optimized for high-capacity urban transport operations.
