
Engineers at BMZ Poland have developed a new generation battery system, Versora, designed specifically for electric buses and special-purpose vehicles. The platform focuses on scalability, flexibility and standardisation, enabling manufacturers to configure battery systems according to vehicle requirements.
The system is built on a modular architecture that allows adjustment of energy capacity, power, voltage and dimensions. This approach enables OEMs and bodybuilders to adapt battery configurations without redesigning the overall system, supporting faster development cycles and platform standardisation.

A key feature of Versora is its ability to support both NMC and LFP cell chemistries within the same physical format. This allows manufacturers to switch between high energy density configurations and more cost-efficient solutions without modifying the battery structure.
The platform supports a wide voltage range from 100V to 800V and enables parallel connection of battery strings. Depending on configuration, energy capacity ranges from 14 kWh to 118 kWh per string, allowing integration across different vehicle types and duty cycles.
Versora is designed for flexible installation, with a low-profile form factor that allows placement both in the vehicle floor and on the roof. The system also supports stacked configurations, increasing integration options for space-constrained designs.
This flexibility makes the platform suitable not only for new vehicle platforms but also for retrofit projects, where combustion engine vehicles are converted to electric drivetrains.
The system incorporates an integrated thermal management solution, with the heat exchanger built into the battery housing and fluid connections located outside the battery compartment. This design improves both safety and thermal efficiency compared to conventional architectures.
Versora is designed to comply with key international standards, including UN/ECE R100, ISO 26262 and EU battery regulations, supporting certification and deployment in regulated markets.
