On June 11, 2025, Allison Transmission announced it will acquire Dana Incorporated’s Off-Highway business in a $2.7 billion deal, marking a significant shift in the global powertrain landscape. The move expands Allison’s industrial portfolio beyond its historic strength in fully automatic transmissions, positioning the company as a more comprehensive provider of drivetrain and propulsion systems across multiple vehicle segments.
Dana’s Off-Highway division is a well-established supplier to the construction, agriculture, forestry, specialty, mining, and industrial vehicle sectors. Its offering includes axles, drivetrain components, propulsion systems, and increasingly, hybrid and electric drive solutions—many of which directly overlap with Plaza's key categories such as Chassis, Engines, and Electromobility.
With operations in over 25 countries and a workforce of approximately 11,000 people, the Dana unit adds significant global reach to Allison’s network. The acquisition reflects Allison’s broader strategy: to diversify its customer base, grow in emerging markets, and deliver both mechanical and electric solutions to OEMs and fleet operators seeking flexibility in sourcing and energy transition.
“This acquisition marks a transformative milestone in our commitment to empowering our current and future customers with propulsion and drivetrain solutions that improve the way the world works,” said David Graziosi, Chair and CEO of Allison Transmission.

Once finalized, the deal is expected to generate an annual run-rate synergy of $120 million and be immediately accretive to earnings. It will also allow Allison to expand its technical resources, particularly in hybrid and electric powertrain development—an area where Dana has made notable progress in recent years.
