During Busworld Europe (October 4–9, 2025), Valeo officially premiered the EDC 120, a new electric compressor with integrated inverter designed for the electric bus segment. The launch underscores Valeo’s strategic expansion of its electrification expertise into the heavy duty and bus markets.
Claudine Rochette, VP Strategy and Communication for Valeo’s Power Division, highlighted the company’s long term ambitions. “With the EDC 120 electric compressor, Valeo drives into the electric bus market. This segment will continue growing worldwide, and our existing electrification portfolio for cars and light commercial vehicles will be adapted for buses,” she said.

Engineered for the performance and energy requirements of electric buses, the EDC 120 integrates an inverter to maximize efficiency and reliability. The new compressor builds on Valeo’s established electrification technologies such as motors, inverters, DC DC converters, heat pumps, and thermal systems tailored for zero emission vehicles.
Valeo will expand this portfolio further to meet the specific technical needs of future electric bus platforms.
Production of the EDC 120 is planned for 2026 in China, currently the world’s most advanced market for electric buses. Leveraging its global manufacturing footprint and expertise, Valeo aims to secure a strong position as the market accelerates toward zero emission mobility.
The Busworld debut reinforces Valeo’s broader commitment to supporting the energy transition through high performance, competitive electrification technologies.
