At the IAA 2024 trade fair in Hannover, Chinese battery manufacturer CATL, a global leader in the sector, will unveil its new products aimed at the European heavy electric vehicle market. CATL focuses on providing high-performance batteries that offer electric trucks and buses maximum possible range. The company will also present ultra-fast charging and battery-swapping technologies, already successfully tested in China, with plans to expand them into Europe.
In this presentation, Libin Tan, Customer Director, and Aleksej Kruekov, Chief Engineer at CATL, will introduce the company’s latest technologies. Among the most anticipated innovations is the ultra-fast battery system for e-trucks and e-buses, designed to reduce charging times—one of the key challenges in the transition to large-scale electric vehicles.
CATL is also developing a network of battery-swap stations that will allow commercial fleets to replace batteries within minutes, optimizing uptime and maximizing efficiency. These stations, already proven in China, are seen as a potential solution to accelerate the widespread adoption of electric vehicles in Europe.
The European market is a strategic priority for CATL, as it seeks to strengthen its position as a leading provider of energy solutions for the heavy transport sector. Expanding its battery-swapping and fast-charging technologies aims to meet the needs of transport companies looking for sustainable and efficient alternatives.
CATL’s participation in IAA 2024 highlights its commitment to advancing the electrification of heavy-duty vehicles and supporting Europe’s transition toward a zero-emission future. With this series of innovations, the company continues to position itself as a global battery market leader, driving progress toward more sustainable mobility.
