Würth Elektronik ICS has signed an agreement to acquire 100 percent of MRS Holding, integrating MRS Electronic into its group structure. The transaction, subject to regulatory approval, expands Würth Elektronik ICS’ capabilities in control, communication, and networking systems for commercial vehicles and mobile machinery.
MRS Electronic, headquartered in Rottweil, Germany, employs around 250 people and operates additional sites in Croatia, Poland, and Turkey. The company develops electronic and software solutions, including compact controllers, relays, gateways, and HMI systems used in vehicle electrical architectures.
The two companies have maintained a development partnership for more than 15 years. MRS controllers are already integrated into Würth Elektronik ICS central electrical units and power distribution systems, supporting CAN-based onboard networks.
With the acquisition, Würth Elektronik ICS extends its portfolio to address increasing demand for software-driven vehicle functions, including cybersecurity, functional safety, ISOBUS applications, and advanced processor platforms.
The combined expertise is expected to strengthen system integration capabilities and enable closer alignment between hardware and software development for complex vehicle electronics.
