TDK Corporation has launched a new immersion temperature sensor (ITS), the B58101A0851A000, designed for powertrain cooling applications in electric vehicles (EVs), including electric buses. This highly responsive, fully sealed NTC thermistor ensures fast and precise temperature control, making it ideal for oil-cooled systems, which are expected to become the standard for electric bus drivetrains.

With a lightweight design of less than 11 g and a response time of under 4 seconds (τ63%), the sensor offers high accuracy (±1 K) across a wide temperature range (-40 °C to +150 °C). It is resistant to ZF EcoFluid E gear oil, making it suitable for various cooling systems in electric and hybrid buses. Additionally, its customizable resistance-temperature (RT) curve and flexible mounting options allow adaptation to different bus designs.

This new sensor highlights TDK’s commitment to advanced thermal management solutions for modern e-mobility, including the evolving electric bus industry.
