TDK has expanded its portfolio of EMI suppression components with the introduction of the B82722V6*B040 series, a compact high voltage common mode choke designed for DC systems up to 1250 V. The component targets next generation power electronics, including DC DC converters used in electric buses and other high voltage vehicle architectures.
As electrified bus platforms increasingly adopt SiC and GaN semiconductors, system voltages and switching frequencies continue to rise, placing greater demands on insulation, electromagnetic compatibility, and PCB space. The new choke addresses these constraints by combining high voltage capability with a compact vertical design measuring 23 x 15.5 x 24 mm.

The series offers inductance values from 3.3 mH to 22 mH and supports rated currents between 0.85 A and 3.0 A at ambient temperatures up to 70 °C. Its multilayer solid insulation design, validated with 3750 V line to line testing, ensures reliable electrical isolation in high voltage environments.
Manufactured using an automated winding process, the component achieves high resonance frequency characteristics and low stray inductance of approximately 0.6 percent. This supports effective suppression of both common mode and symmetrical interference, contributing to stable operation of onboard power electronics.
The choke complies with IEC 60938-2 and IEC UL 60939-3 standards for EMI filters and features UL 94 V-0 compliant materials. Its wave soldering compatibility and compact footprint enable integration into space constrained vehicle electronics without increasing PCB size.
