Stercom has introduced a 400 Hz input option for its 22 kW onboard charger, extending compatibility with specialized power infrastructures such as those used in airport environments.
The updated system supports three phase AC input across 50 Hz, 60 Hz, and 400 Hz at 115 V. The charger automatically detects the incoming frequency and adjusts operation accordingly. The 400 Hz functionality is enabled via software, without requiring hardware modifications.

Under standard grid conditions, the charger delivers up to 22 kW with three phase supply up to 32 A. In 400 Hz mode, the system provides approximately 10.5 kW output, supporting applications where non standard grid frequencies are required.
The extension enables deployment of a single charging unit across different infrastructure environments, including municipal vehicles, sweepers, ground support equipment, and airport service vehicles.
The development addresses interoperability challenges in mixed grid environments, where frequency compatibility is a constraint for electrified vehicle operations.
