SICK has launched the OD200 µm optical displacement sensor, a compact short-range laser sensor designed to deliver fast, stable, and reliable measurements — even on dark, shiny, or textured surfaces.
Its robust performance helps reduce rework and downtime in demanding industrial environments like bus body construction, metal part assembly, and inline quality control, where reflective or uneven surfaces often disrupt other sensors.
With its triangulation-based core, the OD200 achieves micron-level precision at high speeds (up to 3 kHz), across 25–160 mm ranges, and supports repeatability down to 2 µm. Whether inspecting plastic housings, painted parts, or structural components, it ensures accurate readings even in low-light conditions.

The OD200 offers plug-and-play setup, IO-Link connectivity, and real-time feedback for process optimization and condition monitoring. Designed to integrate easily into Industry 4.0 environments, it enhances productivity across sectors like automotive, electronics, and robotics — including bus and coach manufacturing.
This launch strengthens SICK’s existing OD Mini portfolio and underlines its role as a leader in sensor-based automation for industrial applications.
