At Excon 2025, Makersan made a strong impression with its latest range of products designed for construction machines, buses, and other commercial vehicles. Highlighting innovation and practical solutions, the company showcased a complete set of replacement mirrors for both construction machinery and buses, alongside a new 360° bird’s-eye view system. This marked the first time Makersan presented these solutions at a trade exhibition.
“We brought a new range that we haven’t done before; these include replacement mirrors for construction machines and buses, along with our 360° bird view system,” said Mr. Pehlivanoglu, Global Marketing Director, Makersan. “This is a very recent project and we are proud to showcase it here for the first time.”
In addition to these new products, Makersan presented its upgraded standard range. This included joysticks with improved push buttons featuring higher ingress protection levels and newly enhanced HMIs with touch functionality. The HMI lineup now extends from 4.3-inch and 7-inch displays to 10-inch and 12-inch models. Makersan also highlighted a control unit specifically developed for scissor lift operations and integrated radio and media functions that allow users to manage audio and hands-free calls directly through the HMI, similar to a car infotainment system.
“Our new generation HMIs can handle radio and media controls, hands-free calls, and four camera inputs for surrounding view,” Mr. Pehlivanoglu explained. “We believe this adds significant operational ease for manufacturers.”
Strengthening Presence and Support in India
Makersan has been actively expanding its footprint in the Indian market, with a strong presence in construction, agriculture, and commercial vehicle segments. The company recently set up an engineering office in Pune to provide localized support, bridging language and time gaps while assisting customers with product development and customization.
“Recently, we started providing engineering services from our Pune office,” Mr. Pehlivanoglu said. “Indian engineers now directly support our customers, making it easier to develop new products and fueling growth in our HMI orders.”
The company prides itself on rapid and reliable support, including emergency customization. In one instance, Makersan modified an HMI overnight to help a customer pass EMC testing, delivering it directly to the site in Chennai and ensuring the test was successful. “We assist our customers in critical situations, helping their growth, which in turn strengthens our position in India,” he added.
Looking ahead, Makersan aims to expand across all major sectors including buses, trucks, construction, and mining machinery. While the global economic outlook remains uncertain, Mr. Pehlivanoglu sees India as a key growth market due to its large population, high demand, and sustained development.
“We want to be present in all sectors and help our customers succeed in India,” he said. “The Indian market is very important for Makersan’s future.”
Regarding local production, Makersan is planning to start assembly operations in India once order volumes justify it. This step will help reduce import duties and improve competitiveness while leveraging India’s skilled labor.
“Our goal is to provide high-quality products at competitive prices while standing out with our services,” Mr. Pehlivanoglu concluded. “We are not just a vendor; we are a supporter our customers can rely on in any situation.”
