Luview Introduces AI BSD Camera System for Pedestrian and Blind Spot Detection

Luview has introduced its AI BSD Camera System, designed to support pedestrian and vehicle detection in blind spot areas around commercial and passenger vehicles. The system targets high risk zones such as A pillars and rear side areas, providing real time visual detection and audio alerts to support driver awareness.

At the core of the system is the JY 814 AI Camera, developed using an anchor free algorithm architecture to improve detection range and inference speed. According to Luview, the camera achieves pedestrian and vehicle recognition accuracy above 96 percent, with real time processing up to 19 frames per second and latency as low as 50 milliseconds.

The system supports differentiated alert zones and audio warnings when pedestrians or vehicles enter predefined risk areas. Detection parameters including sensitivity and alert zones can be configured via a mobile or web interface using the camera’s built in Wi Fi connection. The camera offers a horizontal field of view of 145 degrees and a detection range of up to 28 meters in forward and rearward directions.

Designed for use in demanding vehicle environments, the JY 814 AI Camera is rated IP69K for water and dust protection and complies with ISO 16750 3 vibration standards. The system is developed in line with UN ECE R159 and R158 test requirements, supporting integration into regulated vehicle safety architectures.

Luview states that the AI BSD platform can be adapted for multiple vehicle categories, including buses, trucks, passenger vehicles, and special purpose vehicles. In addition to blind spot detection, the company offers algorithm customization for applications such as perimeter intrusion detection, people counting, traffic safety facility recognition, and animal detection.
