Vinyl flooring solutions continue to play a critical role in public transport vehicle design, where durability, safety, hygiene, and lifecycle cost are key decision drivers. Lantise has positioned its vinyl bus flooring portfolio to address these requirements across buses, subways, and rail vehicles operating under high passenger loads and demanding conditions.

The flooring is based on homogeneous PVC construction, designed to deliver consistent material performance throughout its service life. Compared with layered alternatives, homogeneous PVC offers improved chemical resistance, better indentation recovery, and extended lifespan in commercial transport applications. The addition of quartz sand technology enhances wear resistance, helping the surface maintain appearance and performance under continuous foot traffic.

From a safety perspective, Lantise vinyl flooring integrates anti slip surface treatments to reduce fall risk, particularly in wet or high traffic conditions. Fire safety compliance is addressed through adherence to FMVSS 302 for road vehicles and EN 45545 2 for rail applications. Antibacterial surface treatments further support hygiene requirements in densely used public transport environments.

Operational efficiency is supported through low maintenance design. UV protected surface layers improve stain resistance and simplify cleaning, reducing the need for aggressive chemicals or frequent refinishing. This contributes to lower maintenance costs and improved vehicle availability.

Customization is another differentiator, with multiple color options, textures, and surface finishes available to align with operator branding and interior design requirements. Textured surfaces also contribute to slip resistance while maintaining ease of cleaning.

Sustainability considerations are addressed through the use of recyclable materials and low VOC emissions, supporting improved indoor air quality and alignment with environmental targets increasingly adopted by public transport authorities.

In addition to durability and safety, multi layer construction provides acoustic dampening and cushioning benefits, contributing to reduced interior noise levels and improved passenger comfort during operation.
