Dassault Systèmes has released SOLIDWORKS 2026, introducing an AI enabled design and collaboration suite targeted at engineering teams operating in high complexity, high velocity product environments. Positioned for the generative economy, the new release integrates hundreds of enhancements across design, simulation, electrical and PDM domains.

The update builds on decades of R and D and deepens linkage with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The objective is clear: compress design cycles, standardize knowledge flows, reduce rework, and create a more resilient design to manufacturing pipeline.

Core upgrades include generative AI tools that automate drawing creation and accelerate assembly workflows by detecting and assembling fastener like components automatically. A new AI driven virtual companion consolidates insights from community posts, wikis and support content to surface actionable guidance and reduce knowledge search friction.

For large model environments, SOLIDWORKS 2026 introduces selective loading and leaner assembly handling, enabling smoother workflows under production constraints. User experience improvements focus on continuity during connectivity issues, faster onboarding and enhanced command discovery.

Part modeling efficiency has also been upgraded with faster sketching, improved sheet metal flange definitions and more resilient physical product creation workflows. Drawing stamping now supports additional user attributes for traceability and controlled change management.

The version expands BOM alignment between engineering and manufacturing via managed cut lists integrated with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Visibility of recent files has been streamlined to reduce duplication and maintain data hygiene across tenants.

This release signals a continued shift toward AI assisted engineering processes, designed to help cross functional teams manage higher product complexity while maintaining quality and delivery velocity.
