C-MAC Enhances Electronic Reliability with New Conformal Coating Capability

C-MAC has reinstated in-house conformal coating at its UK site, using the advanced Nordson ASYMTEK Select Coat® SL-940 Series to improve protection for electronic assemblies. Conformal coating applies a thin polymer layer over Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) to guard against moisture, dust, and corrosion — a critical process for vehicle electronics operating in harsh environments.

For bus and coach manufacturers, this ensures greater reliability of control units, lighting systems, and safety electronics exposed to constant vibration and temperature changes. The new system enhances coating accuracy through automated motion control and EasyCoat® software, offering faster changeovers, higher throughput, and compatibility with various coating materials.
