Rottweil, May 2025 – MRS Electronic, a leading provider of intelligent electronic systems for the mobility sector, has launched a new CANopen version of its widely adopted CAN I/O – CC16WP module. This rugged, compact controller—already well-known in the commercial vehicle and mobile machinery markets—now supports integration into CANopen-based vehicle networks, expanding MRS’s family of CANopen slave modules.
Designed for seamless integration into bus, coach, and off-highway vehicle applications, the CC16WP CANopen variant eliminates the need for custom programming. It can be easily controlled by a CANopen master (e.g. CODESYS), significantly reducing setup time and engineering overhead.
The module leverages the CiA® 401 Device Profile, ensuring compatibility with established CANopen systems. With standardized communication and streamlined error diagnostics, users benefit from greater system uptime and reliability—crucial in fleet and heavy-duty environments.
Built to endure harsh operating conditions, the CC16WP features IP6K8-rated housing and a robust plug connector, making it ideal for space-constrained and demanding installations in buses, trailers, or construction machinery.
