3Rtablet has introduced eSIM configuration options for its ST-7 and VT-10A PRO rugged vehicle mounted tablets, supporting remote network management and improved connectivity in fleet operations.

3Rtablet has added embedded eSIM configuration options to two rugged vehicle mounted tablets, the ST-7 and VT-10A PRO, aimed at transport, industrial and public service vehicle applications.

Vehicle mounted tablets are used as onboard terminals for functions such as data transmission, positioning, dispatch management and fleet coordination. In these environments, network reliability is critical, especially for vehicles operating across regions, in harsh outdoor conditions or in applications with limited maintenance access.

Traditional physical SIM cards can present challenges in vehicle environments exposed to vibration, dust, moisture and temperature variation. Card slot openings may affect device protection, while physical cards can require manual replacement or configuration when fleets change regions, operators or network requirements.

By using an embedded eSIM module, the communication profile is integrated directly into the device hardware. This removes the need for a removable SIM card and supports remote provisioning, activation, switching or deactivation of network profiles. For operators managing distributed fleets, this can simplify device administration and reduce the need for on site maintenance.

eSIM technology can also support multi network configurations, allowing devices to store profiles from different operators and switch networks when required.
