Shanghai Aowei Technology Development Co., Ltd. was established in 1998 and is one of the earliest high-tech enterprises in China engaged in the research and development and manufacturing of supercapacitors. It is a national green factory, a "Shanghai Brand" enterprise. It has undertaken dozens of major or key projects or topics related to supercapacitors under the National 863 Program, National Science and Technology Support Program, Key Special Program, and relevant projects in Shanghai. It has hosted and participated in the formulation of more than 20 industry and local standards. It has passed ISO9001, ISO14001, IATF16949, SA8000, OHSAS18001, ROHS, CE, UL, ECER10, and ECER100 certifications. It is the chair unit of the National Super Capacitor Industry Alliance under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. As the only "National Engineering Research Center for Vehicle-Used Supercapacitor Systems" in the Chinese supercapacitor industry, it owns four provincial research platforms including the "Shanghai Engineering Research Center for Supercapacitors". It has won honors such as the First Prize of Science and Technology in Shanghai, the First Prize of Excellent Employee Innovation and Technology in China, and the 18th Zhan Tianyou Award. Aowei has achieved full coverage of supercapacitor product technology routes, applying for more than 200 domestic and international patents. The energy density of the UCK series products is greater than 130Wh/kg, and the technical indicators and product application range have reached international leading levels. The products are widely used in fast-charging electric city buses, energy storage frequency modulation, pure electric heavy-duty tractors, large AGVs in the metallurgical industry, trams and light rail, hybrid electric vehicles, port machinery, power supplies for intelligent robots, emergency power supplies for data centers, and many other fields. The technology and products have entered countries and markets such as Israel, Europe, North America, South America, and the Middle East, etc. Features of Aowei’s Supercapacitor High power density: Power density can reach above 10kW·kg-1, which is 10 to 100 times that of batteries. It can achieve system integration design for MW-level power within a small weight and space. It can release several thousand amperes of current in a short time, suitable for high-power output of trams. Long cycle life: The actual cycle life of supercapacitors can reach tens of thousands to millions of cycles, making them very suitable for applications requiring long life. Can be quickly charged and discharged: Supercapacitors have the ability to charge and discharge at high currents, and can be fully charged or completely discharged in tens of seconds to a few minutes, making them very suitable for short-term high-power applications. Low internal resistance and high energy conversion efficiency: Due to its inherent design principle, the internal resistance of a supercapacitor is very small and the charge efficiency is almost 100%. Therefore, the heat loss and charge loss during charging and discharging are very small. Generally, it can achieve over 95% energy conversion efficiency. In high-power applications, this can reduce unnecessary energy loss and save energy required for cooling equipment. Wide temperature range: Supercapacitors generally operate in a temperature range of -40~+55 ºC, with better low-temperature performance than battery-powered vehicles.
